Redundancy pay weekly cap: £751 in 2026/27
See how the £751 statutory weekly-pay cap works for redundancies from 6 April 2026, when it affects your calculation and the £22,530 maximum payment.
The 2026/27 weekly-pay cap
For redundancies on or after 6 April 2026, the statutory calculation in Great Britain uses no more than £751 for a week's pay. If your relevant weekly pay is lower, your actual figure is used.
The calculation uses £600 because it is below the statutory cap.
The calculation uses £751 — exactly the 2026/27 cap.
The statutory calculation still uses £751. An employer can choose to offer more under an enhanced scheme.
With the 20-year service limit and age weighting, the maximum statutory redundancy payment is £22,530.
Why the cap matters
The cap means statutory redundancy pay does not rise indefinitely with salary. Someone earning above £751 a week can therefore receive less than a simple 'weeks × normal weekly salary' calculation suggests.
The NetSlip calculator shows the weekly pay used and whether the cap has changed your estimate.
Enhanced redundancy schemes
An employment contract, collective agreement or employer policy can provide more than the statutory minimum. The statutory cap does not stop an employer offering an enhanced package.
