Enter your age, full years with your employer and gross weekly pay. NetSlip applies the current statutory age bands, 20-year service cap and the £751 weekly-pay cap for redundancies on or after 6 April 2026.
For redundancies on or after 6 April 2026, statutory redundancy pay in Great Britain is based on your age during each complete year of service, your gross weekly pay and up to 20 years of continuous employment.
Each full service year when you were under 22 counts as half a week of pay.
Each full service year when you were aged 22 to 40 counts as one week of pay.
Each full service year when you were aged 41 or over counts as one and a half weeks of pay.
Only the latest 20 years can count. For redundancies on or after 6 April 2026, weekly pay is capped at £751 and total statutory redundancy pay is capped at £22,530.
Statutory redundancy pay is separate from notice pay, unpaid wages, accrued holiday pay and any enhanced or contractual redundancy payment your employer may offer. Those elements can have different tax treatment. Genuine redundancy payments are generally tax-free up to £30,000, but notice pay and normal earnings are not automatically covered by that exemption.
If your contract offers more than the statutory minimum, use this figure as the legal-minimum reference point and compare it with your employer's written breakdown.

This tool assumes you are an employee in Great Britain and uses your age at the end of employment to count backwards through complete years of service. It is a planning estimate, not legal advice. Statutory entitlement can be affected by employment status, suitable alternative work, continuity of service and other circumstances.
