Estimate holiday pay for regular salaried work, irregular-hours or part-year work, and rolled-up holiday pay. Choose the method that matches how you work and see the calculation instantly.
Regular hours and fixed pay: holiday pay is based on what you would normally receive while working. The calculator converts annual salary to weekly gross pay and multiplies it by the amount of leave entered.
Irregular-hours and part-year work: where holiday pay is calculated using the reference-period method, the usual approach is an average of the previous 52 weeks in which you were paid. Weeks with no pay are not counted; if you have fewer than 52 complete paid weeks, the available complete paid weeks are used.
Rolled-up holiday pay: for eligible irregular-hours and part-year workers, employers may use rolled-up holiday pay for leave years beginning on or after 1 April 2024. The statutory calculation is 12.07% of total pay in the pay period and it should be shown separately.
Holiday pay can include more than basic salary. Depending on the worker and the leave being taken, normal remuneration can include payments such as regular overtime, commission and certain status-related payments. Bonuses depend on their nature. This calculator is an estimate, so check your contract and official guidance where your pay has several components.
Someone earning £35,000 a year has simple weekly gross pay of about £673.08 (£35,000 ÷ 52). On the fixed-pay setting, one week of holiday therefore shows an estimated £673.08 gross holiday pay. For irregular work, use the paid-weeks average instead of annual salary.
