Does your payslip look right?

What this payslip checker can — and cannot — tell you

NetSlip is designed as an independent sense-check. It compares the figures you enter with a 2026/27 calculation using the same core tax engine as the NetSlip salary calculator.

If you are checking pay connected with annual leave, use the Holiday Pay Calculator to estimate the gross holiday amount separately before comparing the payslip deductions.

Why a genuine payslip can differ

PAYE can depend on cumulative pay and tax earlier in the tax year, tax-code changes, Week 1/Month 1 treatment, benefits and payroll adjustments. National Insurance is normally calculated by pay period and can also depend on your NI category. Because NetSlip does not have your payroll history, a difference is a prompt to investigate — not proof that your employer made an error.

Privacy first

You do not need to upload a payslip or provide your name, employer, National Insurance number or address. The calculation runs locally in your browser and nothing is saved.

Understand the figures first

New to payslips? Start with how to read a UK payslip, see payslip deductions explained, or understand National Insurance on your payslip. If PAYE has suddenly changed, see why tax can increase on a payslip.

If something looks wrong

Check the figures and tax code against the original payslip first. For tax-code questions, see NetSlip's wrong tax code guide and BR tax code guide. For official records or a correction, use HMRC or speak to your payroll team.
